FRAGMENT 04

THE POEM
WAS NEVER
A MONUMENT.

Vepkhistkaosani is not assigned reading. It is a wedding gift.

A 12th-century epic written by Shota Rustaveli during Georgia’s Golden Age, it has been passed between generations not as literature on a shelf, but as a living object. Something you give the people you love most. Over 1600 quatrains. Two knights, one pursuit, one maiden who represents everything worth sacrificing for. UNESCO recognized it. Georgia memorized it.

This campaign does not illustrate the poem. It translates what the poem does to a reader: slows them down, pulls them inward, holds them inside a moment of loyalty or longing before releasing them. Stillness and measured composition in place of spectacle. Rustaveli rendered at human scale.

  1. N01 AI VIDEO PRODUCTION

    The Knight
    in the
    Panther’s Skin.

A cinematic interpretation of Vepkhistkaosani, Georgia’s 12th-century national epic. The film approaches Rustaveli not as monument but as moral interior: loyalty, devotion, and inner conflict rendered through stillness, measured composition, and the quiet weight of a story eight centuries in the carrying. Each frame positions the poem as lived experience rather than cultural display.
